〈중력에의 의지 v2.0 Type B〉는 하얀 막 위에 금색의 덩어리, 투명한 유체가 서로 긴밀하게 연결되는 설치 작업이다. 유체는 표면 위를 유동하거나 덩어리의 표면에 붙어 새로운 배열을 만든다. 금색의 덩어리는 양감을 가진 물체로 무게감을 증폭시키고, 유체는 덩어리를 중심으로 부유하며 힘의 이동성을 드러낸다. 금색의 덩어리는 각자의 위치에서 상하로 움직이며 액체를 스치고 서로를 나누어 갖는다. 표면 아래의 움직임은 표면 위의 유체의 이동성을 불러일으켜 힘을 분배하고 공유한다. 작가는 중심의 이동을 통해 힘의 균형을 유지하며 공간을 경험하는 감각을 증폭시킨다.
외부의 환경에 의해 변화하는 재료의 양상은 우리 주변의 풍경과 일상의 모습을 담아낸다. 이번 작업에서 작가는 재료들의 관계 속에서 물체의 고유성과 성질을 탐구하고, 유체의 결합을 통해 사회 속에서 더불어 살아가는 공생의 경험을 이끌어낸다.

〈The Will to Gravity v2.0 Type B〉 is an installation project, closely connecting golden mass and clear fluid on a white curtain. The fluid either flows on the surface or creates a new arrangement by sticking to the mass. The golden mass, with a sense of volume, amplifies the sense of weight, and the fluid, movement centering on the mass, expresses the mobility of power. The golden masses move up and down from their position, grazing and splitting liquids. The movement under the surface causes the mobility of fluid on the surface so that the power is distributed and shared. Jung Dakd amplifies sensory experience of the space by moving the center while maintaining the balance of power. Aspects of ingredients changed by the external environment capture the landscape and daily lives around us. Through this project, he explores the uniqueness and properties of objects from the relationships between ingredients and reveals the cooperative coexistence in society by combining fluids.

이번 프로젝트 작품 구상을 위해 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 돌려보는 중에 이리저리 움직이며 갈라지고 합쳐지는 유체의 모습을 보고 떠올린 구절이 있었다. 그것은 니체의<권력에의 의지(The will to power)>에서 나온 구절이다.
 
인생을 쉽게, 그리고 안락하게 보내고 싶은가?
그렇다면 무리 짓지 않고서는 한시도 견디지 못하는 사람들 속에 섞여 있으면 된다.
언제나 군중과 함께 있으면서 끝내 자신이라는 존재를 잊고 살아가면 된다.
 
위와 같은 선상에서 이 프로젝트의 제목은 중력에의 의지(The will to gravity)가 되었다.
골짜기의 높이차로 생긴 물리적 변화에 의해 공들은 갈라지고 합쳐지기를 반복하고 금색으로 치장된 플라스틱 공들은 서로 부딪혀 요란한 소리를 내며 이리저리 휩쓸려 다닌다. 니체의<권력에의 의지(The will to power)>에서는 권력에의 의지는 사실 욕망, 충동, 생존, 삶에의 의지 같은 것들이며 권력 그 자체는 악한 것이 아닌 생명의 근본적인 현상이고 생명이 있는 곳에는 언제나 권력에의 의지가 있다고 설명하고 있다.

The title of this work, The Will to Gravity, is a parody of Nietzsche’s philosophy book The will to power. The following sentences are from this book.

Do you want to have an easy life?
Then always stay with the herd and lose yourself in the herd.

Looking at magnetic-fluid splitting up and then getting back together while running simulations for the work, these phrases came to the artist’s mind. Connecting wires from the surface of the tent (10 x 10m) to motors installed on the ceiling, various forms of valleys are made as these strings are wound and unwound.
For the physical changes made by the difference of the height of the valleys, the balls constantly split up and come back together. Decorated in gold, plastic balls move around while making loud noises as they bump into each other. According to the book, The will to power is in fact will to desire, impulse, survival and life. Power itself is not evil. It is a fundamental phenomenon of life and wherever life is, there is always will to power.

Pataphysics는 형이상학을 뜻하는 metaphysics에 '이상'이라는 뜻의 그리스어 파타(pata)가 결합한 것을 말한다. 즉, 형이상학 그 위의 개념이 있다고 가정하고 농담으로서의 과학, 철학 등으로 패러디한 것이다. 쓸모없는 시간을 보내는 것을 견디지 못하는 우리나라의 풍토가 오히려 과학과 기술의 발전 속도를 늦춘다고 생각했고 이 쓸모없는 작품을 통해서 과학자들에게 진지한 농담 같은 것을 던지고 싶었다. 관객들은 연못 속에서 꿈틀거리는 것이 가짜인 걸 알면서도 진짜 생명체인 양 쓸데없는 농담을 주고받았으면 하는 바람이다. 우리는 좀 더 쓸모없는 짓, 쓸모없는 공간이 필요하다.
